Here's what it says on the etherbee.io website:
The
modernized Ethereum 2.0 network is slowly moving from the Proof-of-Work
"PoW" mining algorithm to the Proof-of-Stake "PoS", replacing miners
with validators-stakers who put their ETH coins on nodes to verify
transactions.
Once validators verify the integrity of a transaction, they get
passive income. This process is called staking. Ethereum staking works
on smart contracts implemented via "Casper" Consensus Algorithm.
Casper allows ETH stakers to stake a deposit at their PoS
verification node and vote on the next block in exchange for rewards.
The weight of the vote depends on the age of the ETH deposit. Payments
are made from fees for processing Ether transactions on verified blocks
on the Ethereum blockchain.
