Here's what it says on the aurella.cc website:
The rich history of
Aurella Partnership started in 70's of the XXth century, when rapid
development of civilized world began to affect the entire environment
after the World War II.
The main ecological
problem was the pursuit of profit, due to which almost no one thought
about the consequences of ignoring the basic pollution control equipment
during factories launching, there was no technology to reduce the
concentration of air pollutants in the atmosphere and industrial
wastewater wasn't even being cleaned.
Dozens of companies
in the USA and Europe had been exploring environmental issues, aimed not
only to develop innovative solutions in the field of nature protection,
but also to make it the reference direction of business.
In 1982, three small
companies from North America and Europe established Aurella Partnership
with headquarter in Dublin. Jordan Kerrigan was elected as a CEO of the
company and is managing Aurella at the moment.
Aurella today - is
one of the leaders in developing of breakthrough, hi-tech solutions in
the field of nature conservation. Cooperation with Environmental
Protection Agency and involvement of the best scientists allows us to
lobby for the interests of the company worldwide.
The latest
achievement of Aurella - is a co-designed with scientists in Iceland
radical new technique, turning waste CO2 to stone, which promises a
cheaper and more secure method of burying CO2 emissions underground
instead of storing it as a gas.
Technology testing
has taken place in the Columbia River Basalts, extensive deposits in
Washington and Oregon in the US. The further practical research, called
the Carbfix project, took place at Iceland’s Hellisheidi power plant,
the world’s largest geothermal facility.
The Iceland project
has now begun scaling up to bury 10,000 tonnes of CO2 a year, plus the
hydrogen sulphide which also turns into minerals. The Columbia
University group are also investigating another rock type, found in
Oman, which may be able to turn CO2 into rock even better than basalt.
Engineering and
technology of Aurella are currently ready to expand a large amount of
projects around the world, which will entail reduction of harmful and
toxic emissions in the atmosphere for hundreds of thousands of tons per
year.
